Section 62 (extract):
(1) No person shall, except under and in accordance with the terms and conditions of a permit granted to him by the Director under subsection (3), export from or import into or transport through or re-export from Botswana any animal, or trophy, meat or eggs thereof.
Regulation 102 (extract):
No person shall remove or attempt to remove any cattle or small stock from any district for the purpose of export from Botswana except under a permit in writing to be obtained in every case from a Government veterinary officer.
Section 18:
No person shall export or cause or permit to be exported from Botswana any livestock unless he is the holder of a current certificate that he is a registered exporter or a registered producer, and is in possession of an export permit issued by the Director of Veterinary Services or an officer authorized by him, subject to such conditions as the President may deem necessary
Section 6 (extract):
(1) No person shall, without the consent of the Director, import or export any animal, carcass, hide, skin, hoof, hair, wool, semen or any other produce of animal origin, litter, dung, fodder, live virus, or other pathogenic agent capable of setting up disease in animals, serum, vaccine or other biological or chemical product intended to be used for the treatment of animals.

Regulation 102 (extract):

Regulation 103:
The owner of any cattle or small stock intended to be removed from any district for the purpose of export from Botswana shall, before the issue of the permit mentioned in regulation 102, bring such cattle or small stock to a place to be specified by the Government veterinary officer or any other duly authorized official by whom the permit is to be issued at a reasonable distance from the place where they are kept for inspection by him.

(2) Any person contravening this regulation shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable to a fine not exceeding P10 or in default of payment to imprisonment for a term not exceeding one month, or to such imprisonment without the option of a fine for every such head of cattle or small stock removed or attempted to be removed.
