PROTECTED AREAS ACT.
Section 6. In this Act- (u) "natural heritage" includes - (i) biological diversity, the components of biological diversity and wildlife; (ii) land forms of significance, including geological features and processes of scientific significance (iii) ecosystems and ecosystem services. |

PROTECTED AREAS ACT.
Section 3. The objectives of this Act are -(e) to enhance national pride in and encourage stewardship of Guyana's natural heritage. at the national, regional, local, community and individual levels of society; (t) to assist in safeguarding Guyana's sovereignty over its natural heritage and to regulate access to the nation's biological resources. Section 8. The functions of the Commission are to -(h) promote public understanding, appreciation and awareness of Guyana's natural heritage and promote environmental awareness and education through the national protected areas system. Section 79. The Commission shall consult the relevant authorities on the preservation of archaeological sites. |

MARITIME ZONES ACT.
Section 44 (1). The Minister responsible for culture may authorise activities directed at underwater cultural heritage within the territorial sea and contiguous zone. (2) A person, entity, foreign government or international organization shall not engage in any underwater cultural heritage activity within the territorial sea and contiguous zone, except under and with accordance with the terms of a licence or letter of authority granted by the Minister responsible of culture or any written agreement of the Government. (3) A person, entity , foreign government or international organization shall not engage in any commercial exploitation of underwater cultural heritage for trade or speculation ([...]) (A person who contravenes subsection 2 or 3 commits an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine ([...]) (5) The Minister ([...]) may make regulations to regulate and authorise activities directed at underwater cultural heritage ([...]) (7) The Minister responsible for culture may by order provide for the protection, management, ownership, preservation, collection, custody and for other matters incidental to cultural maritime heritage, historic wrecks, sites of interest and objects of archaeological and historic nature found at sea ([...]) |

AMERINDIAN ACT.
Section 41. The functions of the National Toshaos Council are. (g) to provide advice to the Minister on - (i) the protection of Amerindian culture and heritage including the identification and designation of Amerindian monuments. |

NATIONAL TRUST ACT.
Section 3 (1). There is hereby established a body to be known as the National Trust which shall be a body corporate with power to do all things necessary for the purposes of this Act. Section 5(2).
