Section 2. In this Act- "veterinary medicine" means a substance or composition of synthetic origin applied or administered to an animal. whether used for therapeutic, prophylactic or diagnostic purposes or for the modification of an animal's physiological function or behaviour, or any substance or composition presented as having such properties or uses, and includes antibiotics, growth promoting substances and veterinary pesticides, such as those applied for control of diseases and ectoparasites of animals;
Section 2. In this Act- "veterinary officer" means the principal veterinary officer and includes any veterinary officer, livestock officer or livestock assistant of the Department of Agriculture authorised in writing by the principal veterinary officer to perform the functions of the principal veterinary officer.
Section 2. In this Act- "veterinarian" means a duly registered practitioner of veterinary medicine. "animal health assistant" means a person other than a veterinarian who is registered as an animal health assistant under. "Veterinary Medicine" includes obstetrics, dentistry and all other branches or specialities of veterinary science
