12(1); A person shall not practise as a veterinary surgeon or veterinary para-professional, unless that person is registered as a veterinary surgeon or veterinary para-professional.
13(1); A person who wishes to be registered as a veterinary surgeon or veterinary para-professional shall apply to the Council for registration in the prescribed manner and form upon payment of the prescribed fees.

Section 12 (extract)- (1) A person shall not practise as a veterinary surgeon or veterinary para-professional, unless that person is registered as a veterinary surgeon or veterinary para-professional in accordance with this Act. (2) A person who contravenes subsection (1) commits an offence and is liable, upon conviction, to a fine not exceeding five hundred thousand penalty units or to imprisonment for a period not exceeding five years, or to both. "

14(2); The Council shall enrol a diploma holder as a veterinary para-professional; and enlist a certificate holder as a veterinary para-professional.(7) The Ministerial may, by statutory instrument, prescribe the qualifications for registration of a person as a veterinary surgeon or veterinary para-professional.
33(1); The Registrar shall keep and maintain a Register of all persons registered under this Act in which Register shall enter the details and particulars relating to- [...] (c) holders of degrees, diplomas, certificates or other qualifications in veterinary medicine.

60; The Council shall adopt and publish a Code of Ethics for veterinary professionals which shall be binding on all veterinary professionals regulated under this Act.
61; A veterinary professional commits professional misconduct if the veterinary professional- (a) contravenes the provisions of this Act; (b) unlawfully discloses or uses to the veterinary professional's advantage any information acquired during the veterinary professional's practice; (c) engages in conduct that is dishonest, fraudulent or deceitful; (d) engages in any conduct that is prejudicial to the veterinary profession or is likely to bring it in disrepute; or (e) breaches the Code of Ethics or encourages another veterinary professional to breach or disregard the Code of Ethics.
62(1); A person may lodge a complaint with the Disciplinary Committee against a veterinary professional where the person alleges that the veterinary professional has contravened the Code of Ethics or any provision of this Act.

Section 72 (extract)- " A person who contravenes a provision of this Act for which no specific penalty is provided is liable, upon conviction, to a fine not exceeding one hundred penalty units or for imprisonment for a period not exceeding 1 year or both. "
Section 73 (extract)- "If a body corporate or unincorporate body is convicted of an offence under this Act, every person who--(a) is a director of, or is otherwise concerned with the management of, the body corporate or unincorporate body;and (b) knowingly authorised or permitted the act or omission constituting the offence; shall be deemed to have committed the same offence and may be proceeded against and punished accordingly. "
